Overview
The Marangu Route, often referred to as the "Coca-Cola Route," is the oldest and most established path up Mount Kilimanjaro. This route is known for its gradual ascent, making it one of the more accessible climbs for beginners. Unlike other routes, the Marangu Route offers hut accommodations, providing a bit more comfort during the trek. The trail takes you through lush rainforest, across high moorlands, and up to the summit via the famous Gilman’s Point. Though considered to be an easier climb, it should not be underestimated as acclimatization and preparation are still crucial for reaching Uhuru Peak. This route is perfect for those looking for a well-trodden path with the added comfort of sleeping huts. The scenic beauty of the rainforest and moorlands, coupled with the historical significance of the trail, makes the Marangu Route a classic Kilimanjaro adventure.
